Help us spread the word! Tonight’s Barlow vs. Gresham football game is being moved to Sandy High School. The district and the school made the decision to move the game after discovering Barlow High School’s scoreboard is not working due to the rainy weather. Sandy High School is located at 37400 Bell Street, Sandy, OR 97055. There is plenty of parking at Sandy High School—there will be no shuttle as originally planned.
The AVID Student Social is canceled for tonight, Friday, October 20.

Incoming Students - Summer Homework
In order to reach all of the standards in Honors Chemistry, we ask that you prepare yourself by learning about the following topics on your own this summer through accessing the online Physical Science textbook:

Atomic Structure
Periodic Table basics
Chemical and Physical Changes

Access to the Online Textbook is below:

If you would like to use a real textbook, please check out a Prentice Hall Physical Science Concepts in Action book from the bookroom for the summer, then return it in September when you come back to GHS.

The summer assignment for all Honors Chemistry students is as follows:
  • Read Chapter 2 and complete the Reviewing Content (1-10) and Understanding Concepts (11-22) on pg. 63.
  • Read Chapter 4 and complete the Reviewing Content (1-10) and Understanding Concepts (11-23) on pg. 121.
  • Read Chapter 5 and complete the Reviewing Content (1-10) and Understanding Concepts (11-23) on pg. 153.
All work should be done on notebook paper and brought to school on the first day to turn into Mr. Harshfield
There's an App for that!
For my students who have smart phones I would recommend that you download a free app called CMM - molar mass calculator to your phone. IF you do this, then I will periodically allow you to use your cell phone for work in class. Cell phones cannot however be used during tests/exams, so even though you are allowed to use the app for help, you will still need to understand how to do the work yourself
